Chlamydia was found in 3 out of every 100 young people aged 15 to 24 in the free Chlamydia national screening programme, and was highest (up to 9 out of every 100) outside London.
Gonorrhoea was found to be 1 in 200 in young people aged 15-24 in the UK in a community study.
Gonorrhoea testing is not part of the National Chlamydia Screening Programme, and so is often not looked for in NHS testing.
Better2Know does not need to report its positives or numbers tested to any authority so your tests do not form part of these statistics.
You can choose Chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing at any of our national STD testing clinics on their own, together or as part of our platinum, full or peace of mind screens.
Chlamydia and gonorrhoea can be tested in urine, of by a swab of the vagina, rectum (if you have received anal sex) and throat (if you have given oral sex).
You can also choose to buy one of our home sample collection tests so you do not have to see a doctor.
Results take just two days from when the sample is received in the laboratory.
