Testing Options

In addition, the Better2Know Everywhere service offers an alternative to our clinic and home testing options. With this bespoke testing service, a personal clinician will visit you at a location of your preference, testing you quickly and efficiently for an array of STIs. This can be a home, hotel, or business address, or one of our many Everywhere nurse locations; it is entirely up to you.

For those patients using our clinic or Everywhere services, you will be seen by a qualified clinician who will take your blood, swab or urine samples. Once collected, your samples will then be sent for analysis at our CPA accredited, UK laboratory. For home testers, a prepaid envelope is included in the kit you receive. All you need to do once you have collected your sample is pop it in the post, and it will be analysed at our fully accredited laboratory. Results usually take between one and five working days from receipt of the sample by the laboratory, though this may vary depending on the test or screen you select. You can access your results online at any time by logging into the secure patient area of our website. A member of Better2Know’s sexual health advisory team will also contact you when all your results are ready.

For those wishing to receive their results even sooner, Better2Know also conducts Instant testing for six harmful infections. Using blood and swab samples, we provide rapid results for HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. Our Instant testing option is available across the UK, giving you a full picture of your sexual health status in under half an hour.

Results & Booking

Should you receive a positive result, Better2Know will perform further, confirmatory testing at no extra charge to yourself. Depending on your infection, we can provide you with a prescription for the treatment you require. If you test positive for Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea following an Instant test, an immediate prescription will be administered. We can also arrange a telephone or face-to-face doctor’s consultation, or refer you to a specialist service, if necessary.
